This week we got the car and went for a walk along the Rhine, about 60 km from Frankfurt's Bingen am Rhein, where the route begins, to Koblenz, some 50km north approximately.

The first time we saw the place was a passing train, en route to Cologne. The landscape itself is very picturesque, the river runs in a canyon of approx. 200 meters deep. The slopes are covered with terraced vineyards. Although what most stands out is the number of castles that exist in the rocks. That time was only in passing. This time we take more time to enjoy the ride.


Castles arise from the Rhine ECONOMIC importance as a trade route. In the various wars, most of the castles to the destruction. Some were rebuilt by the end of s. XIX. Others remain in ruins. The most notable exception is the Castle of Marksburg, the only one to survive intact. Not all castles are visited, even among those who open, some do so only in summer. Anyway we could get several.

After spending the night in St Goar, started the day visiting the impressive ruins of Burg Rheinfels, where one can get lost in endless of twists and tunnels. Then on the way to Koblenz. This is now a much larger city. We visited the old and the Deutsches Eck, or the confluence of the rivers Rhine and Mosel, where you can admire the strength of Ehrenbreitstein.

already on the eastern bank of the river, and taking the way back, the last castle we visited was the Marksburg inside, as I said before this is the only one to survive intact all wars, so it required a visit near (and recommended!). We played an entertaining guide told several anecdotes and interesting details, and although we played in the tour a large group of dudes, behaved quite decently. Then stopped at some ruins. The last stop was proper on the rock of the Loreley, we had seen from down the opposite bank on the way there.

The area is rich in mythology. Around the same Rin can not forget the epic poem The Song of the Nibelungs. But more specifically referred to this area is the myth of the nymph of the Loreley. The place is particularly narrow and dangerous for ships. The story then says that the nymph with her singing and beauty dazzles the sailors causing the wreck.

Mildred Pierce

Director Michael Curtiz (Casablanca) is responsible for carrying out this magnificent film. MS and dedication. Mildred Pierce tells the story of a mother who gives everything for his daughter, but for the latter nothing that the mother gives him enough. This movie had much time on hand, but I never decided to see her and when I could not take off his eyes, majestic script, majestic here. William Faulkner is responsible for the script that is the best of this film takes you by the hand all the way while you are entertained and distracted. And the detail that at some point it's all just decipherable makes it more wonderful still, if possible. Makes clear the intention of the film and shows in a real raw but what a mother can do for your daughter, and even more so a child can not do for his mother (some). The story is well told, 10 to the script. The direction gets you into the story, from the first scene is masterfully done and so far no film more. A great director with a camera in hand is a work worthy of admiration.

Now, the whole structure of the film I liked. Is 45 and yet the scenes were perfect and the scenery of each set was brilliant, elegant film which notes that many people left the brain. A very quiet music to help relax the tension in the plot.

An actor should feel lucky when it encounters a solid script to act, in which the characters are constructed and maintained stably throughout the whole movie. This is the material with which the actors work here, and as you know to take advantage. Eve Arden won an Oscar nomination for his small # or paper, Mildred's friend and partner. Ann Blyth is the daughter of Mildred who also won the Oscar nomination, and not mention it because this means that action is more worthy of others simply as data. But if it should be stressed that action is great and he probably should win (do not know the performance of Anne Revere in National Velvet so I can not vouch for anything.) Mildred Pierce Joan is Ceawford role that gave him the Oscar for this actress. Crawford is just perfect, is a flawless performance and admirable. The male part of the film is not as strong as the female.

A movie I highly recommend for those who have not seen. In particular it encourages me to see her after so long because it starts on Sunday to record HBO miniseries Kate Winslet in the role of Mildred and Evan Rachel Wood in the role of Veda (the daughter).

David Zayas - Angel Bastidas - Dexter: this if you are here with all of the law. A poor performance and a strange characterization. A character that does not create chemical bothers many times and takes a bit the value of the cast as such. They should kill him in the series XD

Jesse Tyler Ferguson - Mitchell Pritchett - Modern Family: Let's see, does not seem at all funny. Maybe it's the fault of the script because the character's personality is very strong and not step or with water. Stonestreet saves to balance the thing.

Courtney Cox - Monica Geller - Friends: was hard to put it here because Friends is my favorite. But when I thought about it the first that came to mind was Coxx. His character is very rude and she can not give you the right way, it shows a great effort which makes over-acted on many occasions.

Donald Louge - Sean Finnerty - Grounded For Life : One of my favorite comedy series. My problems with the character of Louga script more than anything else, the man's personality is very off base. You lose credibility as a family at times, and obviously in a series and even worse comedy, but it's credibility should not be lost.

Sam Trammell - Sam Merlotte - True Blood: a constant headache this man.

2007 .- The Man from Earth

not really know how to start it. I fell to the movie on the recommendation of a friend, the catalog of "very good". Many good things about the film and some not so good. Technically nothing to highlight. Nor has any actor, Ellen Crawford the most successful. Address I liked it, and all of stage I pleased to always be on the same set, the assembly quite successful as a movie where everything goes in the same set is great potential for installation errors, none more than this one. The script is one of the things that is to be applauded, yet the most to be throwing stones.

The story is about a meeting of a group of friends, a farewell to one of the teachers (all teachers, educated people) who suddenly decides to leave. 10 to # I have known. After much questioning he decides to tell the true story because it is: a caveman who has been living for # 14000 to you, he does not know why or how, but every ten to # you migrate to a different place before people start to realize that does not age. The story is very interesting and telling way too, must be given some credit for introducing the lead actor in history, it helps in large part to believe what he says or not, I really liked his body language , in a role that can not be easy because much of the responsibility is not on that account but how. At no time to flash back fence with the story that the man has, which helps build credibility and makes it difficult to care for the movie always a man talking and the reaction of his friends, but for me there was a problem to stay attentive.
There are certain things that frustrate, that from the beginning of the film will make clear that there is no way to verify that what the man says is true and if so there is no way to verify that you really believe, and so on. But there are others who draw little attention, for example, that humanity will actually be eaten the story of a person who has lived for # 14000 to you that easy, educated people and believers in science.
